SAT Test Scores
The College Board typically makes SAT Test Scores available online or via the phone a couple of weeks after the test. Scores are mailed to test takers approximately a month after a test.
SAT Reasoning Test Score
Scores are reported for each section of the SAT Reasoning Test on a 200 to 800 scale. In addition, there are two sub scores for the Writing section:
- A sub score for the Writing Section multiple-choice questions on a 20 to 80 scale.
- A sub score for the Writing essay on a 2 to 12 scale where a score of 12 indicates "clear and consistent mastery" and a score of 2 represents "little or no mastery".
SAT Subject Test Scores
Subject test scores are also reported on a 200 to 800 scale. Many of the SAT Subject Tests have sub scores that are also reported. The Language with Listening Tests have two sub scores, one for listening and the other for reading. Both scores are on a 20 to 80 scale. The Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Subject Tests have sub scores for listening, reading, and usage. All are also on a 20 to 80 scale.
The major exception to Subject Test scoring was the English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT). It was scored on a 901 to 900 scale with sub scores reported for listening and reading on a 1 to 50 scale. The final administration of the ELPT was in January of 2005.
